Terms & Conditions
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using PoloMetrics (the “service”) — the website, its pages, and the data it publishes — you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service. If you create an account, these terms govern that account too, and you confirm you’re old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live.
2. The service
PoloMetrics provides scores, schedules, statistics, standings, leaderboards and related content for NCAA Division I men’s water polo. It’s an independent project, provided free of charge.
We may add, change, suspend or remove features — or the whole service — at any time and without notice. We don’t promise the service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
3. Accounts
You don’t need an account to browse, but some features — favorites, notifications, feedback — require one. You’re responsible for your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for everything that happens under it. Provide accurate information when you register, keep it up to date, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, or that we reasonably believe are abusive, automated or compromised. You can delete your account at any time from your profile.
4. Acceptable use
Use the service for its intended purpose. Don’t:
- disrupt, overload or interfere with the service or the infrastructure behind it;
- probe, scan or circumvent its security or access controls;
- access it by automated means — scraping, crawling, bots — at a volume or in a way that degrades it for others, or in order to rebuild a competing dataset;
- impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation;
- use it to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights.
Reasonable, personal use of our public data is fine — sustained automated harvesting is not.
5. Content & intellectual property
Sports statistics are facts, and facts belong to no one. But the selection, arrangement and presentation of content on PoloMetrics — our derived metrics, page designs, written copy and compiled datasets — are ours, and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may view and share this content for personal, non-commercial use; you may not copy it wholesale, sell it, or present it as your own.
Team and school names, logos and marks belong to their respective owners and appear here for identification only.
6. Data & availability
The service and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Data is collected automatically from third-party sources on a best-effort basis and may be incomplete, delayed or wrong.
Don’t rely on it where accuracy matters — for wagering, eligibility, records, or any official purpose. The official record always lives with the schools, the conferences and the NCAA.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PoloMetrics and anyone involved in making it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, goodwill or profits, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, even if the possibility of such damages was known. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the service, which for a free service is zero.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version. If we make a material change we’ll make a reasonable effort to flag it on the site; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you don’t accept them, stop using the service.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
